You can do excellent business as most ads are posted by honest and trustworthy people. That being said, it is important to use common sense to prevent any attempt of scam.

Some rules to guide you

  • Trust your instincts
  • If you must pay for any product, meet in person and inspect the product thoroughly
  • Request to meet buyer or seller in public place
  • Ensure you let your loved ones know the address and details of anyone you are going to meet
  • Do not send money to anyone on this site through  medium such as MoneyGram, Western Union or any other form of payment system.
  • Do not send money or products abroad
  • Do business with people you can meet in person
  • Do not accept cheques
  • If a deal seems too good to be true, there is every chance that this is the case. Refrain.
  • Keep copies of all correspondence (emails, ads, letters, etc.) and details of any person you do business with.

How to recognise attempted scam
Most scams have one or more of these characteristics

  • Payment is made through Western Union, Money Gram or check.
  • The person is abroad or traveling abroad
  • The person refuses to meet you in person
  • The texts seem to be copied and pasted
